Ceramic Cow Magnets (50pk)

Popular with Vets and Farmers
COW-SCM7CX50BX

Ceramic cow magnets are used to prevent hardware disease in cows and is ideal for 3D classroom experiments, including demonstration of magnetic fields. This heavy-duty magnet collects nails, staples, and baling wire (also called tramp iron) that cows swallow while grazing. Tramp iron tends to lodge in the honeycombed walls of the reticulum, threatening the surrounding vital organs and causing irritation and inflammation. The cow loses her appetite and decreases milk output (dairy cows), or her ability to gain weight (feeder stock). Cow magnets help prevent this disease by attracting stray metal from the folds and crevices of the rumen and reticulum. When properly administered, one cow magnet will last the life of the cow. Consult veterinarian on how to administer the magnet.

  • Collects nails, staples, and bailing wire (tramp iron) that cows swallow while grazing
  • One magnet will last for the life of the cow, when administered correctly
  • Prevents hardware disease in cows
